The winning numbers for the Powerball drawing on Saturday, October 10, 2026 were 1, 4, 19, 33 and 51, with a red Powerball of 15. The Power Play multiplier was 2x. According to Powerball, no ticket matched all six numbers, so the estimated $519 million jackpot rolled over. One ticket sold in California matched all five white balls.

We'll be upfront: this recap is going up six days after the drawing, and two more drawings have happened since then. So besides the October 10 numbers, Double Play results and full winners table, this page also briefly covers the Monday, October 12 and Wednesday, October 14 drawings and where the jackpot stands for Saturday, October 17. If you have a ticket from any of those three drawings in a drawer or wallet, now is a good time to check it.

Jackpot and winners for October 10

Here's what Powerball reported for the October 10 drawing:

  • Advertised jackpot: an estimated $519 million (annuity), with a cash value of about $212.9 million.
  • Jackpot winners: none. No ticket matched all five white balls plus the Powerball.
  • Match 5 ($1 million): one winning ticket, sold in California.
  • Match 5 with Power Play ($2 million): no winners.
  • Match 4 + Powerball: 18 tickets won $50,000, and four more had Power Play, which doubled their prize to $100,000.

A quick note on the jackpot figure. Our October 7 recap reported Powerball's estimate at the time, $516 million with a cash value of $212.6 million. By draw day, Powerball's posted figure for October 10 was a little higher, at $519 million and $212.9 million. That's normal. Jackpot estimates are projections, and Powerball revises them as actual ticket sales come in.

The California Match 5 ticket

Matching five white balls without the Powerball is the second-largest prize in the game, normally a fixed $1 million. California is the exception. It pays all non-jackpot Powerball prizes on a pari-mutuel basis, which means the amount depends on California sales and the number of California winners in that tier. A California Match 5 prize can therefore be more or less than $1 million. We couldn't find an official California-specific amount for this drawing, so we're not stating one. If you bought a ticket in California, the California Lottery posts its own prize amounts and claim rules.

Winners by prize tier

Here's the national winners table Powerball posted for October 10. "Power Play winners" are tickets that won the same tier with Power Play added, so they collected the 2x amount.

Powerball only407,445$4114,772$8

Adding up both columns, according to Powerball, 818,693 winning tickets came out of this drawing. That's well above the 586,957 winners on October 7, which fits with more tickets in play as the jackpot grows.

Where the prize money went

If you leave out the California Match 5 ticket (whose amount we can't confirm) and use the standard prize amounts in the table, the remaining winning tickets were worth roughly $5.8 million in total. California's lower-tier amounts can differ, so treat that as an approximation.

Two things stand out:

  1. The red ball alone did a lot of work. More than 522,000 tickets won $4 or $8 just by matching the Powerball. Together they account for about $2.5 million, or roughly 44% of that $5.8 million.
  2. The Match 4 + Powerball tier was busy. Its 22 winning tickets shared $1.3 million ($900,000 from the 18 standard tickets and $400,000 from the four Power Play tickets).

That shape is typical: small prizes go to huge numbers of people, large fixed prizes to a handful. If you're curious how the money in each tier relates to the price of a ticket, our guide to Powerball expected value works through it with real numbers.

What happened after October 10

Since this recap is late, here's a quick rundown of the two drawings that followed. The numbers come from the official New York State open-data feed, and the jackpot and winner facts come from Powerball's results pages.

Monday, October 12

The October 12 numbers were 22, 28, 38, 51 and 69, with Powerball 9 and a 3x Power Play. The Double Play numbers were 23, 25, 51, 53 and 54, with Powerball 16. According to Powerball, nobody won the jackpot, which was estimated at $541 million with a cash value of $221.7 million. One ticket matched five white balls for the $1 million prize, and Powerball lists that winner in the United Kingdom. Since July 21, 2026, Powerball has also been sold in the UK through Allwyn, and UK sales feed the same jackpot.

Wednesday, October 14

The October 14 numbers were 3, 34, 37, 42 and 46, with Powerball 20 and a 3x Power Play. The Double Play numbers were 11, 17, 37, 58 and 69, with Powerball 9. According to Powerball, the jackpot, estimated at $566 million with a cash value of $231.9 million, wasn't won. There were no $1 million Match 5 winners, but one ticket in Minnesota matched five white balls with Power Play for $2 million.

Next drawing: Saturday, October 17, 2026

With three more rollovers since our last recap, Powerball now lists the jackpot for Saturday, October 17, 2026 at an estimated $600 million, with a cash value of about $246.0 million. Drawings are held at 10:59 p.m. ET, and sales cutoffs vary by state. As before, this figure is an estimate and can change before the drawing.

How the jackpot climbed

Since October 7, when it stood at $485 million (cash $199.7 million), the jackpot has grown with every rollover. From October 10 to October 17, the advertised amount rose by $81 million, but the cash value rose by $33.1 million. The cash value has stayed at about 41% of the annuity figure the whole time. The headline number is a 30-payment annuity built on the cash in the prize pool, so it rises faster than the actual cash does. Our explainer on how the Powerball jackpot grows walks through where that money comes from. A bigger jackpot doesn't change the odds of winning it, though. They're still 1 in 292,201,338 for every ticket.

A quick look at the October 10 numbers (trivia only)

The patterns below are fun to notice, but they don't mean anything for future drawings. Every Powerball drawing is random and independent, and every combination has exactly the same chance of coming up next time.

  • Odd and even: four odd numbers (1, 19, 33, 51) and one even number (4).
  • Low and high: using 1–34 as "low" and 35–69 as "high," four numbers were low and only 51 was high.
  • Sum: the five white balls add up to 108, one of the lowest sums of the past few months.
  • Consecutive numbers: none this time.
  • Spread: 50 separates the lowest ball (1) from the highest (51).
  • Double Play: its white balls (1, 29, 34, 39, 62) add up to 165, with three odd and two even numbers. The number 1 turned up in both drawings, which is a coincidence. The two drawings use separate sets of balls.

Ball 51 and the "due" myth

One small detail is worth a closer look. In our October 7 recap, white ball 51 had the longest current gap of any number: 57 drawings without appearing. It was drawn on October 10 and then again on October 12. Some people will call that a "due" number paying off. It isn't. With five balls drawn from 69, any number shows up in about one drawing in 14, so long gaps followed by a reappearance happen all the time. The ball didn't become more likely because it had been missing, and it isn't less likely now because it just appeared twice. We cover this idea in more depth in hot and cold Powerball numbers.

How the October 10 draw compares with recent drawings

One simple way to describe a drawing is the sum of its five white balls. With balls numbered 1 to 69, the long-run average sum is 175. The chart below shows the sum for each of the last 30 drawings, including the two that followed October 10, next to that average.

October 10's sum of 108 is the third lowest in this 30-drawing window, behind only September 21 (93) and September 23 (105). It came right after another low sum, 124 on October 7. Then October 12 jumped to 208, and October 14 landed at 162. Across all 30 drawings, 16 came in below 175 and 14 above, and the average works out to about 174.8, almost exactly the theoretical figure. Two low sums didn't "cause" the high one that followed. Choosing numbers so they add up to around 175 doesn't improve your odds, because every one of the 292,201,338 combinations is equally likely.

The red ball: how often 15 has come up

Saturday's Powerball was 15. The chart below shows how many times each red ball from 1 to 26 has been drawn since the current format began in October 2015, through October 14.

Powerball 15 has now come up 47 times, a bit below the 54.62 you'd expect if every red ball appeared equally often. The most frequent red ball in this period is 14 (68 times), which also happened to be the Double Play Powerball on October 10. The least frequent is 16 (40 times). A spread like that, from 40 to 68, is well within what chance produces over 1,420 drawings. Each red ball has a 1 in 26 chance in every drawing, no matter how often it has shown up before. So the chart is a record of the past, not a guide to which red ball to pick.

Power Play: 2x again

The October 10 multiplier was 2x, the fourth 2x in a row before the 3x results on October 12 and 14. This chart shows how often each multiplier has been drawn under the current format.

About 56% of drawings since October 2015 have produced a 2x and about 32% a 3x, so a run of 2x results isn't surprising. The 10x multiplier shows up in only about 1.4% of drawings, partly because it's available only when the advertised jackpot is $150 million or less. With the jackpot above $500 million, 10x wasn't in play on October 10.

What an October 10 prize is worth after tax

The amounts in the winners table are before taxes. Here's how federal withholding works out for the larger prizes won on October 10. These are illustrations, not tax advice. Your actual tax depends on your total income for the year.

  • Match 4 + Powerball, $50,000. For U.S. citizens, the lottery withholds 24% federal tax on prizes over $5,000. That's $12,000 withheld, leaving about $38,000 before any state tax.
  • Match 4 + Powerball with Power Play, $100,000. 24% withholding is $24,000, leaving about $76,000 before state tax. A prize this size can push part of your income into a higher bracket, so you may owe more than what was withheld when you file. The top federal bracket is 37%.
  • Prizes of $5,000 or less. The $4 to $200 prizes aren't subject to federal withholding, but all lottery winnings are taxable income.

State rules vary a lot. Some states don't tax lottery winnings, while others withhold their own income tax. Check the rules for the state where you bought the ticket, and talk to a tax professional before you spend a large prize.

How to check your ticket from October 10 to 14

Since three drawings have happened in the past week, here's a careful way to check:

  1. Find the draw date on the ticket. Match it to the right row in the table above (October 10, 12 or 14). A multi-draw ticket can cover several of these drawings, so check each one it covers.
  2. Compare the white balls. Your five white numbers can match the drawn ones in any order.
  3. Compare the Powerball separately. Your red number only counts if it matches that drawing's red ball (15 on October 10, 9 on October 12, 20 on October 14). The same number among your white balls doesn't count.
  4. Check your add-ons. With Power Play, multiply any non-jackpot prize by that drawing's multiplier: 2x on October 10, 3x on October 12 and 14 (a Match 5 is always $2 million). With Double Play, check your numbers against that drawing's Double Play results.
  5. Confirm officially. Scan the ticket with your state lottery's app or at a retailer.

Sign the back of any winning ticket right away, and store it somewhere safe. A paper ticket is usually treated as a bearer instrument, so whoever holds it can claim it. Claim deadlines are set by each state and start on the drawing date. Larger prizes usually have to be claimed at a lottery office.

Frequently asked questions

What were the Powerball numbers on October 10, 2026?

The white balls were 1, 4, 19, 33 and 51, and the Powerball was 15. The Power Play was 2x.

Did anyone win the Powerball jackpot on October 10, 2026?

No. According to Powerball, no ticket matched all six numbers, and the estimated $519 million jackpot (cash value $212.9 million) rolled over. One ticket sold in California matched five white balls.

What were the Double Play numbers for October 10, 2026?

The Double Play numbers were 1, 29, 34, 39 and 62, with a Powerball of 14.

Has the jackpot been won since October 10?

Not as of the October 14 drawing. According to Powerball, the jackpot rolled over on October 12 and October 14, and the estimate for Saturday, October 17 is $600 million with a cash value of $246.0 million.

The bottom line

The October 10 numbers were 1, 4, 19, 33, 51 and Powerball 15, with a 2x Power Play. No one hit the jackpot, a California ticket matched five white balls, and the prize has rolled over twice more since then, to an estimated $600 million for October 17. If you have a ticket from any drawing this week, check it against the right date, sign it if it's a winner and note your state's claim deadline. Bigger jackpots don't improve the odds, so it makes sense to keep a fixed budget and treat any ticket as entertainment. You must be 18 or older to play (older in some states). If playing stops being fun, free and confidential help is available 24/7 by call or text at 1-800-MY-RESET (1-800-697-3738).
